A Reminder - Good Friday is a day of fast and abstinence from meat.
Palm Sunday - Weather permitting, there will be a procession from the pavilion before the 11:00 a.m. Mass. All who are able to march are asked to assemble at the pavilion. You can also pick up your palm there.

Lenten Fish Fry - The Flaherty Fire Department volunteers will be having a fish fry on April 9 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. The cost is $6 Adults; $4 Children & $3 Sandwiches. All proceeds go to the Crusade For Children.

There will be a breakfast after the 7:00 AM Easter Sunrise Mass in the cafeteria organized by the Flaherty Fire Department volunteers. All are invited.

Easter Collection - Next weekend, we will take up the Easter Sunday collection. This collection will be administered by the Catholic Education Foundation, a separately incorporated, independent organization that supports lifelong formation in the Archdiocese of Louisville. Specifically the collection will fund tuition assistance, parish religious education programs, youth ministry, and adult faith formation. The Easter Collection make possible many programs and services that truly make a difference in the teaching ministry of the Church. Please be generous. There are two envelopes in your packet. The purple one that say “Offering for Easter” goes to the Archdiocese. The one dated April 11, 2004 stays in the parish for parish needs. All loose money goes to the Archdiocese.
Budget Requests Needed: All committees and/or persons who need to submit a budget for the coming 2004/2005 fiscal year should be thinking about it. Your budget requests must be submitted no later than May 1, 2004.

High School Youth Ministry News
Youth Ministry Meeting - The next meeting for high school youth ministry is Wednesday, April 7, 7-9, in parish hall/gym.
Salem Association Softball Team - St. Martin’s Youth ministry is organizing a team of high school youth to participate in the church softball league this summer. If you are interested in participating, plan to attend the youth ministry meeting on April 7th. If you cannot attend the meeting and want to play, please call Gloria at 828-3827.
Easter Egg Hunt - Bring your little ones out to the annual Easter Egg Hunt for the kids of St. Martin’s. It will take place on Holy Saturday, April 10th, at 11:00 on the grounds around the church pavilion and is sponsored by St. Martin’s High School Youth Ministry.
Easter Egg Hunt Support - If you would like to donate candy for this service project, please leave it in the back of church or call Gloria @ 828-3827 and we will pick it up. All high school students are encouraged to come out and help hide the eggs and get things ready for the children. Please plan to be at the pavilion at 10:00 on Saturday, April 10th, to hide the eggs.
Senior Baccalaureate Mass: The Mass to honor graduating seniors of St. Martin’s will be held on Sunday, May 23rd, during the 8:00 a.m. Mass. There will be a planning meeting on Wednesday, April 14th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall Youth Room. If you are a senior, please plan to attend as your input is needed for the Mass. If you cannot attend, please call Gloria Ritter at 828-3827.
You Are Invited to join the faculty, staff and students of St. John the Apostle School as they celebrate the school’s 40th anniversary and to honor Sr. Lucilla as she retires. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 17. Potluck and Open House to follow.
Public Meeting: On April 12 there will be a public meeting held by the KY Transportation Dept. at Flaherty Elementary
School from 5:30 p.m. to 8
p.m. on KY 313 going through Meade County (beginning at KY 313 in Vine Grove and
going to Brandenburg). Please attend this public meeting if you are interested
in the changes KY 313 will make to the Flaherty Community and how it will
directly affect ALL residents of the community hereafter. For more information

St. Christopher Church in Radcliff is having it annual Spring Festival on April 24, 2004 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will be carnival-themed activities and food all day. They are also having a Parish Mission on April 26 & 27. The mission will begin with Mass at 7 p.m. and on the following day it will start at 6:30 p.m. with J-Walk providing Christian contemporary music. The mission will be led by Sal Della Bella, the Director of Office of Ministry & Spirituality for the Archdiocese of Louisville.
