Deacon Robert Caspar

Deacon Robert Caspar was born in Sebring, Florida on November 3, 1944. His parents are Dr. Francis A. Caspar, DVM and Ruth Rosalia Reich. He attended grade school at St. Thomas More School in Paducah, Kentucky. St. Thomas was also his home parish as a youngster.

He attended St. Mary’s High School in Paducah until he entered the seminary at St. Mary’s College High School in St. Mary, Kentucky. He attended college at St. Mary’s College in St. Mary, Kentucky, Brescia College in Owensboro,Kentucky and the University of Tennessee in Nashville, Tennessee.

Deacon Bob was ordained to the permanent deaconate on August 16, 1996 at the Cathedral of Assumption, Louisville, Kentucky. His previous assignments before coming to St. Martin of Tours were St. James, Elizabethtown, St. Christopher, Radcliff and St. Brigid, Vine Grove, Kentucky.

He is retired from the Kentucky Department of Child Support Enforcement. His hobbies and pastimes are gardening and home improvement projects.

Deacon Bob is married to Ann Lucinda Jenkins, daughter of Clarence and Irene Jenkins of Vine Grove, Kentucky. Ann graduated from Brescia College and Western Kentucky University. She is now a retired teacher and principal. They have four children: Christopher, married to Ange Payton; Dana married to Jim Noland; Beth married to Chris Carter and Mark married to Kathryn Gardner. They also have five grandchildren: Conner, Evan, Katie, Jonah and Sophie. They are looking for a sixth grandbaby in June.
