Religious Education for K-12 classes meet each Wednesday night from 6:45 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  All new families are invited to attend.  If you have any questions, please call Regina Bennett at the Lifelong Formation and Religious Education Office.                         

Preschool Time in the Library  All preschool age children are invited to the library on the second Wednesday of each month for our preschool program.  We will pray, sing, have activities, snacks, and read.  If anyone would like to volunteer to be a reader please contact Regina Bennett. 

Register Now for the Archdiocese of Louisville Men’s Conference:  Our Lady of Lourdes Church will be the location of this 8:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m., March 31, 2012, event.  Keynote speakers include Archbishop Kurtz and Deacon Greg Hall (owner of the drilling company that freed the trapped Chilean miners).  The Conference will bring an opportunity for men to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ bringing benefits to each participant, their families, and their Parish Community.  With registration limited to 500, you will need to sign-up as soon as possible at the website (www.cmclouisville.net) or contact Linda McLemore, lmclemore@archlou.org, or phone (502-448-8581).

Why Catholic? (The Celebration of the Christian Mystery-Sacraments) Groups will begin meeting Sunday, February 20, 2012. Sign-up Weekend will be February 4-5, 2012.  There is an attachment to the bulletin this weekend with more information.

RCIA for the Adults will not be held on Tuesdays, December 20, 27, 2011 or January 3, 2012 due to Christmas break. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 10, 2012.

Mom’s Retreat: If you would be interested in a one day retreat at St. John’s for mothers of all ages, call or email Monica at St. John’s For moe information.  mlucas@bbtel.com,422.2196.  If you think you are to busy for a retreat, this one’s for you!

Children’s Church – during the Sunday morning 9:00 a.m. Mass. Please drop off your children before Mass in their classroom (upstairs in the school building). The students will be brought back to church during the Offertory.

The St. Martin’s Library will be open every Wednesday night from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. (Second Wednesday is Preschool Time).

All parishioners are invited to check out books, use the computers, parents can hang-out while their children are attending Religious Education.

St. James Catholic Regional School Pre-Registration. Feb 8 (Wednesday) from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (Loretto Center) for kindergarten students and new to other grades – (2012-2013). Needed: Official Birth Certificate, Baptismal Certificate, Social Security Number, and $75.00 non-refundable deposit.  For information please call 765-5587 or 765-7011.

 

Thanks to the following volunteers for sharing their time and talents with the youth of our parish as either  a catechist or catechist assistants:  Gloria Ritter – Sacramental Preparation Catechist, Janice Whelan – K grade, Laura Benham – 1st grade, Amy English -2nd grade which is Sacrament Preparation for Reconciliation and Eucharist, April Hobbs – 2nd grade assistant, Cindy Richards -3rd grade, Marcia Allgood-3rd grade assistant, Mary Gavin and Amanda Gavin - 4th grade, Elaine McKinney-5th grade, Kathy Thissen and Mary Pike-6th grade, Tim Curran-7th & 8th grades, Elaine Vowels-7th & 8th grades, B. J and Lauren Caster-9th and 10th grade which Is Confirmation Preparation, Jenny Vowels -  9th & 10th grade catechists assistant. Regina Bennett is the catechist for 11th and 12th grades.

 

Adult Confirmation Classes - While working with the parishioners here at St. Martin’s, it has come to my attention that we have adults who have not yet received the Sacrament of Confirmation.  In order for you to be a full initiated member of the Catholic Church we would like to offer you the opportunity to receive your last Sacrament of Initiation, Confirmation.  If you are interested, please contact my office, Regina Bennett, Director of Lifelong Formation and Education 828.8484, reginabennett@bbtel.com.  If we have enough interest we will implement this program.
